The Arturo O’Farrill Sextet featuring Jim Seeley

with The Tommy James Trio

Jazz Hawaii 2015 presents the Arturo O’Farrill Sextet in concert on Sunday, July 5th at 7:30pm at the Princess Kaiulani Hotel Ainahau Showroom. Arturo O’Farrill is in his prime. His conducting is physical. His piano playing is powerful. He’s the center of a dynasty from his father, Chico O’Farrill, who lived from 1921 to 2001 to his sons Adam, a trumpet player, and Zach who plays drums. The co-headliner on this Hawaii tour will be Arturo’s first-chair trumpet player Jim Seeley, his primary soloist and orchestra member for last 25 years. While Jim may not be as well-known as Arturo, you’ll definitely remember his name after you’ve heard him. His trumpet playing speaks for itself.

The show will open with the Tommy James Trio. The Princess Kaiulani Hotel is located at 120 Kaiulani Avenue in Waikiki. All tickets are $35 at the door or on-line here. Drinks will be available just outside the showroom. Validated parking is $2 for 4 hours in the hotel parking structure off Kaiulani Avenue across from Kings Alley.
